THE TEAM
Ky Nguyen, Proprietor
In 2004, 29 year old Ky Nguyen decided to abandon his corporate career to pursue his dream of being a restaurateur, an adventure that would change his life. Having lived in New York City for several years, he fell in love with the local bistros in the West Village; simple, classic spaces serving rustic food in a charming atmosphere. To experience all aspects of running a restaurant, Ky worked as a busboy and a waiter at the famed Pastis Brasserie. During this time, his idea to bring the New York bistro concept to Boston, his home town, solidified. Over the next three years, Ky crafted his business plan and convinced investors that his dream was a formula for success.
Kingston Station opened in September 2007. The restaurant is here to serve the local community, an eclectic mix of business people, students, theater-goers, shoppers and residents. Kingston Station offers simple, rustic dishes, exceptional coffee, and creative cocktails in a classic, old-world inspired environment.
Guaracyara Pimenta, Executive Chef
Guaracyara Pimenta, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil discovered his passion for food at the age of 16 while apprenticing at his father’s restaurant. This experience inspired Guara to develop his own style and in 1999 moved to Boston to hone his skills with Chef Anthony Ambrose at Ambrosia on Huntington. There, he acquired an intimate understanding of French and Asian flavors, adding more skills to his creative arsenal. After working for Chef Ambrose, Guara moved on to Restaurant L in the Back Bay and worked closely with award winning chef Pino Maffeo. As Guara’s reputation grew, many opportunities presented themselves and in 2004 he became executive sous chef at Black Fin Chophouse and Raw Bar on Huntington Ave and later moved on to Copia in Charlestown. Guara brings world class dishes to Kingston Station and uses his deft understanding of international flavors to create a true international bistro menu. Kingston Station is pleased to present Chef Pimenta and his cuisine to the Boston community.
